FROM SYLVA: Take Hwy 107 south toward Western Carolina University at Cullowhee.

In Cullowhee there are 4 lights on Hwy 107.

The first light is at the entrance to the University. You will see a tall white building on your left.

At the fourth light the 4 laned road has narrowed down to TWO lanes.  

Turn Right at the fourth light on to Cullowhee Mountain Road.  You will see CullowheeValley Elementary School there and go past the Jackson County Recreation Park. Cullowhee Mt Road is a 2 lane, twisty country road that will take twice as long to travel a mile as it does in the city.

Cullowhee Mountain Road forks about a mile up from HWY 107...STAY TO THE LEFT. Then go about another 8 miles up Cullowhee Mountain Road.   To help you know how far you have gone - Our "911" addressing on the mail boxes will tell you the mileage.  For example, if you see a mailbox with the number 4500, that is 4 1/2 miles.   Or, you see 8000 on a mailbox, that is 8 miles.

You will be going all the way to the top of the mountain and will probably think you are lost.

At the top you will see 2 country churches. On your left is Double Springs Church of God and on your right is a "cemetery church".

Go 1 mile beyond these two churches to Arrowmont Trail on your left.

Turn left on Arrowmont Trail into Arrowmont Stables & Cabins entrance.The front gate may be closed but it is to keep horses in, not people out. Plan about 45 minutes from Dillsboro. Plan about 35 minutes from Sylva. Plan about 25 minutes from Cullowhee.

FROM CHEROKEE: Take Great Smoky Mt Expressway Hwy 74 east. From the Expressway Hwy 74 take Sylva exit # 85, go to the third light and turn LEFT on to Hwy 107 going south, follow the signs like you're going to Western Carolina University. Then follow the rest of the directions at the top of this page. Plan about 45 minutes from Cherokee. From Bryson City plan about 1 hour and 15 min.
