Go to the third
light and Turn LEFT on to Hwy 107 going south, you will go through
the little community of Sylva. If you need groceries, pick them
up in Sylva. There is a Food Lion shortly after you get off hwy
74/23. There is a Wal-Mart Super Center after you turn left at the
second light and go about 2 -3 miles on your right. Ingles is about
a mile beyond the Super Wal-Mart.
Continue south
on Hwy 107 toward Western Carolina University and Cullowhee. In
Cullowhee there are 4 lights on hwy 107.
At the fourth
light turn Right on to Cullowhee Mountain Road at CullowheeValley
Elementary School . It is a 2 lane, twisty country road that will
take twice as long to travel a mile as it does in the city.
The road forks
about a mile from HWY 107...STAY TO THE LEFT. Go about 9 miles up
Cullowhee Mountain Road. You will be going all the way to the
top of the mountain and will probably think you are lost.
At the top
of the mountain you will see 2 country churches. On your left
is Double Springs Church of God and on your right is a "cemetery
church", go 1 mile beyond these two churches to Arrowmont
Trail on your left.
Turn left on
Arrowmont Trail into Arrowmont Stables & Cabins entrance.You
will come to a gate that may be closed to keep the horses in. Open
the gate, come through and close the gate behind you. From the gate
you will see the barn and reservation check-in which is in the stables
reception office. Plan about 35 minutes from Sylva to Arrowmont Stables
& Cabins.
FROM ASHEVILLE:
On 1-40 West take exit #27 on to the Great Smoky Mt Expressway Hwy
74/23. From the Expressway Hwy 74/23 take Sylva exit # 85, go to the
second light and turn LEFT on to Hwy 107 going south, follow the signs
like you're going to Western Carolina University. See above for
remainder of directions. Plan about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs
from Asheville.
FROM WAYNESVILLE:
From the Expressway Hwy 74/23 take Sylva exit # 85, go to the second
light and turn LEFT on to Hwy 107 going south, follow the signs like
you're going to Western Carolina University. See above for remainder
of directions. Plan about 1 hour to 1 hour and
10-15 minutes from Waynesville
